The Plot Harvest Data Systems collect grain measurement data from HarvestMaster GrainGages or conventional bucket systems. GrainGage models for single plot and twin plot combines are available. The chart below shows grain measurement options.
Classic GrainGage System
The Classic GrainGage is our patented grain measurement system for small grains. Greater accuracy and a compact design make the GrainGage an excellent alternative to regular weigh bucket systems. The Classic GrainGage is ideal for collecting data on cereal grains.
The GrainGage employs a direct volume and weight measurement technique, resulting in very accurate plot weight, moisture, and test weight measurements. Grain is delivered via a non-gated hopper into the top opening. A level detector senses when the constant volume chamber is full and closes the slide gate. Once the moisture measurement is complete, the chamber gate opens and delivers the sample to the weigh chamber. As the sub-sample is weighed, the gate closes and the refill process starts with the next sub-sample. The entire plot is processed this way. The patented Slope and Motion Sensor option provides increased weight accuracy on rough terrain, under heavy combine vibrations, and at faster cycle speeds.

The GrainGage features the EM Grain Moisture sensor. It provides accurate moisture and test weight measurements even on high moisture grains. Twin Plot High Capacity GrainGage
Using the Classic GrainGage as a foundation, the unique High Capacity Graingages handle 450 bushels per hour and provides accurate data at a rate of more than three plot pairs per minute (less than 20 seconds per plot pair).
The Twin Plot High Capacity GrainGage is designed for collecting moisture, test weight and plot weight with split combines. The unique design of the twin Plot system incorporates two holding hoppers and a single weigh bucket. The single weigh bucket with one set of calibrations eliminates side to side errors that are introduced by traditional double bucket systems.

The High Capacity GrainGage features two unmatched sensor technologies. The patented Slope and Motion sensor increases weight accuracy and reduces errors caused by combine vibtation and movement. An innovative EM sensor for measuring grain moisture and density (test weight) is incorporated into the GrainGage. Research shows that both grain and moisture density can be derived from measuring the complex permittivity of a grain sample. The EM sensor is able to measure moisture and test weight accurately, even on high moisture corn. Accuracy of the moisture measurement is equal to, or better than, the Dickey John GAC22 which is traditionally the standard for this type of data.
The new Bulk Density Sensor (BDS) accessory measures test weight volumetrically giving the researcher the ability to better characterize the test weight of large grains (especially corn). The BDS measures test weight using the traditional volumetric method. Its measurements are closely correlated to the USDA Quart Cup. A system with the BDS installed continues to use the EM Grain Moisture Sensor to accurately measure the grain moisture. The BDS is available as an accessory on all new HM800 Single and Twin HCGG systems. You can also retrofit your existing HM400 Single and Twin HCGG with the BDS.

Single Plot High Capacity
The Single Plot High Capacity GrainGage is designed for smaller, single plot research combines and can be used with a typical cyclone holding hopper. Based on the Twin Plot weight bucket design, the Single Plot bucket provides superior weight, moisture and test weight measurements without the maintenance found with traditional buckets.

The Plot Harvest Data System is designed to interface with all conventional bucket systems. Plot weight, moisture, and test weight are recorded from the bucket systems. The Plot Harvest Data System has been used on Gleaner, Kincaid, Almaco, John Deere, and Wintersteiger combines with conventional buckets.
